Come hear the tales of the people and places of East Tennessee as told by the region's favorite storyteller. PAART presents East Tennessee’s favorite storyteller Bill Landry in two very special performances on Friday, September 7, at the Palace Theatre on Main Street in Crossville.

During the special 12:30 pm educational matinee Mr. Landry will guide the audience behind the scenes of The Heartland Series to show us the ins and outs of filming an Emmy award winning television series through the eyes of Host, Narrator, and Co-Producer.  This 45-minute matinee will be fun and exciting for students of all ages.  Ticket prices are $5 for adults and free admission for students.  Reservations for student groups may be made by calling the Palace Theatre at 931-484-6133.

The second performance, “An Evening with Bill Landry”, begins at 7:00 pm central time at the Palace.  For the evening performance Mr. Landry will start with the short "The Flower Hunter- William Bartram, an unlikely explorer", He will also  tell stories, tales, and relate behind the scene adventures featured in his book, "Appalachian Tales & Heartland Adventures," which is now in it's third printing. 

Reserved seating tickets for this event are $15 for adults/$8 for students and can be purchased by calling the Palace Theatre at 931-484-6133 or the Cumberland County Playhouse box office at 484-5000 (a small convenience fee will apply.)

Southern Stars Symphonic Brass -  They kick off their 5th anniversary season of 3 concerts in Crossville on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7pm at the beautiful 1200 seat auditorium at SMHS.    The concert is themed Virtuoso Brass, and will feature 9 members of the 30 piece professional ensemble, presenting solos accompanied by the brass band.   In addition the ensemble will perform selections of a variety that will meet a wide audience appeal.   For more information on the program selections and some video clips of the soloists at rehearsal........check the band's website at www.southernstarssymphonicbrass.com.

Plateau Arts Festival will be held September 14th and 15th from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Plateau Creative Arts Center, 451 Lakeview Drive (off Peavine) in Fairfield Glade.Enjoy the fine art displays of  Tennessee’s artists….paintings galore, photography, pottery, jewelry, basket weaving,  homemade bread and scrumptious bakery made by Cumberland County’s chefs and bakers in residence. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy music by Gene Brown and the Cumberland Mountain Boys.
